Judging at Agility Shows
If you want to start judging at agility shows, it is first advisable to have some competing experience under your belt.
Kennel Club Shows
If you want to be able to judge at Kennel Club shows and haven't judged at a KC licensed show before July 2006 then you will need to have passed you Judge's Exam first. The following is taken from the Kennel Club website:
How to become an agility judge
There is no minimum criteria set out before you can embark on your agility judging career in respect of what you have achieved with your own dogs, except that the organizing Society must ensure that anyone invited to judge is competent. All judges must be fully conversant with the Agility (H) Regulations and this can be purchased from the Online Shop in a handy booklet.
Before you can judge for the first time you must have attained a Kennel Club Agility Regulations and Judging Procedure Seminar and passed the Regulations and Judging Procedure examination. This examination is nothing to fear, it is a multiple choice exam paper and the answers to all the questions will be covered in the preceding seminar.

Independent Shows
There are currently no requirements to judge at Independent shows and as they are normally smaller and more relaxed shows it can be a good place to start your judging career.
However, it is still important that you understand all competing and judging rules as most Independent shows use the same marking system as KC shows.
